Attending court in litigation matters
Conduct proper and factual legal research required for achievement of claims and defense on legal files.
Preparation of all requisite pleadings and follow up to ensure timely filing in court and service.
Perusal of court proceedings, Rulings, Judgements and coordinating the perusal and acquisition of copies of the same.
Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and advice clients on the impact of the same.
Drafting legal documents for client use not limited to contracts and advisory opinions on changing laws.
Advising various departments on various legal policy issues.
Undertaking research on assigned legal issues
Analyzing research data and compiling reports
Preparing preliminary legal documents/instruments
County legislation including review of drafts bills, research on various pieces of legislation and departmental advisory on the legislative drafting
Attending court to represent the County in litigious matters
Preparing legal opinions and reviewing County legislation
Taking part in negotiations with both national and international organization with the aim of entering into contractual relationships.
Ensuring compliance with principles and values of good governance, human rights, transparency, accountability, ethics and integrity and organizing stakeholders’ consultations
